The HLA (Human Leukocyte Antigen) Laboratory performs a number of tests aimed at selecting potential organ donors for patients in need of a kidney, liver, heart, pancreas, lung or bone marrow transplant. We also monitor the functional status of the patients' immune cells. In addition, we test for paternity to include or exclude putative fathers, to identify blood relatives in cases involving inheritance and to establish grandparental rights.
