Bio
Dr. Bourdillon was raised in Zimbabwe and completed his undergraduate and medical education as a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford University and St. Thomas' Hospital, London. He joined the Indiana University School of Medicine and Krannert Institute in 1986, specializing in invasive and interventional cardiology. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a member of the Royal College of Physicians. He also is a Diplomate in the American Board of Internal Medicine with sub-specialties in cardiovascular medicine and interventional cardiology.
Dr. Bourdillon has a special interest in interventional work, including percutaneous coronary intervention and stenting. He has developed a particular expertise in balloon mitral valvuloplasy for rheumatic mitral valve stenosis. He also has particular interest in cardiac physical examination. He has developed and oversees a Cardiovascular Physical Examination Teaching Module at the IU School of Medicine.
