Immunology Human Leukocyte Antigen Laboratory

Under the direction of Andrew Lobashevsky, MD, PhD, the Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) Laboratory performs tests aimed at selecting potential organ donors for patients in need of a kidney, liver, heart, pancreas, lung or bone marrow transplant. The laboratory team also monitors the functional status of patients’ immune cells and tests for paternity to include or exclude putative fathers, identify blood relatives in cases involving inheritance, and establish grandparental rights.
